Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Insurance Coordinator. As an Insurance Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate insurance verification, medical coding, and maintaining medical records. This position requires knowledge of dental or medical office procedures, insurance verification processes, and medical coding standards.

Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients
- Process insurance claims and ensure timely submission
- Review and update patient information in electronic health records
- Assist with medical coding and billing procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues or discrepancies
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for claims
- Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries and provide explanations of benefits

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a dental or medical office setting is preferred
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical coding standards (ICD-9)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
